To counter this, titles including The Times, The Independent, The Guardian and the Observer have introduced new page sizes and formats to increase opportunities for advertisers. They have also invested heavily in their own online presence to help boost sales – after all, the internet is here to stay; so if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.
National press titles fall into one of three categories:
Quality – The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, The Guardian, The Observer, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Independent and The Independent on Sunday.
Mid Market – Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Daily Express and Express on Sunday.
Popular – Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, The Sun, News of the World, Daily Star and Daily Star on Sunday.
