the challenge
Since it was founded in 1876, French company Lagrange Holidays has grown into one of the leading providers of self-catering holidays to France and Spain. It has five offices across Europe and in its UK office operates under two brands: Ski Lagrange (for ski holidays in France) and France Lagrange (for spring, summer & autumn holidays in France).
the brief Lagrange Holidays was looking for an agency to bring an integrated approach to the marketing of its UK brands, rather than just focusing on advertising alone. It needed impartial advice on media selection, with the objective of increasing bookings year-on-year. It wanted to generate revenue through newly qualified leads whilst also retaining existing customers.
the idea
Orchestra recommended that the larger proportion of Lagrange Holiday's budget be spent on Ski Lagrange. We wanted to create a bigger impact in that market, with a two pronged approach: continuous national activity to ensure visibility in the market place and strategic affiliation with key events and editorial during the ski season.
marketing components
We secured excellent ski campaign activity across key media, which stretched from August 2008 through to April 2009. This included: online listings, PPC, magazine, guide book advertising, and national press display and classified advertising. The campaign activity for La Grange France, which ran from January 2009 to September 2009, was equally competitive, including: PPC, magazine, national press display & classified advertising and an affinity deal.
the results
"As a tour operator specialising in self-catering holidays to France, for both ski and summer, our challenge was to promote our wide-ranging programme on a relatively limited marketing budget. On the advice of Orchestra, we changed our focus slightly for our 2008/09 campaign looking at titles that would both boost sales and developing our brand identity as a ski operator.
