The UK is home to the European headquarters of several international TV stations such as CNN, BBC World News and CNBC, it's also home to sales houses for other major channels such as Eurosport, MTV and Discovery. Advertising can be bought across multiple country feeds to varying degrees, allowing advertisers to target several markets cost-effectively versus running activity locally in multiple locations.  

International print media, including magazines and newspapers such as Wall Street Journal Europe, The Economist, Time and National Geographic also house their European headquarters in the UK, and a number of other titles can be bought on a multi-local basis such as Geo, Esquire and Cosmopolitan. These magazines have sales houses in London, but produce local versions of the same title for each country and can sell advertising space on that basis.
